FAQ: Safety
Who regulates bottled water?
The FDA regulates the safety of bottled water beverages including flavored water and nutrient-added water beverages.
Is bottled water as safe as tap water?
Yes, the bottling process is consistently monitored for quality. In addition to our own good manufacturing processes, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are both responsible for the safety of drinking water. EPA regulates public drinking water (tap water), while FDA regulates bottled drinking water.
Is BPA in your water bottle containers?
No, our plastic bottles are made with PET, which stands for polyethylene terephthalate and is designated by a recyclable “1.” PET is a safe, recyclable material that contains no BPA. BPA, which stands for bisphenol-A, is found in another type of plastic called polycarbonate, which is most often found in reusable rigid containers and electronic devices. Products that contain BPA are one of several materials labeled with the recycling symbol “7.”
